Northern Lights Black Spruce
Did you know? Northern Lights Black Spruce is grown on Young Living’s Northern Lights Farm and Distillery in Fort Nelson, BC, Canada?
In 2012, Young Living was growing at an amazing speed, and the need for oils was increasing dramatically. Black spruce was a main oil in Valor and many other blends, but supply produced in Quebec, Canada, over the last 20 years was declining because the driving distance from the distillery was over 12 hours one way. Acquiring trees was difficult and less distilling was taking place. The supply of oil could not meet the needs of the growing number of members. Gary realized that if he wanted to have Black Spruce available, he would have to find trees and build a new distillery.
In 2014—after scouting and research to find the best possible location—Young Living purchased land in British Columbia, Canada, for the Northern Lights Farm. The pristine land remains free of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers, thanks to its relatively untouched nature prior to Young Living’s ownership.
